Heritage is not limited to stones and monuments... It is also embodied in the gestures passed down, the traditions preserved and the landscapes shaped by man over the centuries.
Here, on our steep hillsides, the terraced vineyards supported by schist walls create a unique landscape, the result of patient and persistent work. Between sky and sea, this wine-growing heritage is a true collective work, passed down from generation to generation.
On the occasion of these European Heritage Days, Terres des Templiers has chosen to highlight a little-known facet of this heritage: a collection of vintage advertising posters, carefully preserved in our private archives. These period graphic works, true witnesses of their time, tell the story of wine and the terroir in their own way. By unveiling them today, we are helping to preserve, restore, and share a rare and fragile part of our tangible heritage.
The exhibition will be held in the heart of the Grande Cave. Accessible as part of our free guided tours, offered daily without appointment from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., it will offer visitors an immersion in the retro aesthetic of these unique posters, signed by inspired artists and advertisers. Each image reveals an era, a vision, a constantly evolving identity. Guided by our passionate experts, you will discover both these graphic treasures and the secrets of the production of our Banyuls and Collioure wines, perpetuated with the same care and rigor as in the past.
And to extend this journey through time, the Underground Cellar will exceptionally open its doors throughout the weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.). A true sanctuary of the vintage, it houses in its depths the oldest vintages, preciously kept away from light and prying eyes. Exploring this enigmatic place is like touching the timeless soul of our vineyard, where the liquid witnesses of a centuries-old memory rest.
These Heritage Days are a unique opportunity to combine discovery, history, and tasting, in a setting where past and present interact in harmony. We invite you to come and experience this, and share with us the emotion of a living heritage, built of stones, gestures, and wines.
