Terroir
The Collioure and Banyuls Vineyard is located in the far south of France at the meeting point between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, under the midday sun. The vines are planted on terraces on shale hillsides, from the seaside to the bottom of the valleys of the hinterland.
Grape varieties
Grenache Noir: 100%
Winemaking / Aging
Destemmed harvest.
Mutage on grains followed by maceration for 20 days.
Long aging period, up to 8 years in oak barrels.
Refining in bottles in an underground cellar. Made only in great vintages.
Tasting
Color: Amber and coppery, with emerald green highlights on the fringe.
Nose: Venison, undergrowth and roasted coffee, liquorice brings a touch of freshness.
Palate: On a racy balance, very nice length on the currant with notes of leather.
How to appreciate it
Service: Serve around 13°C.
Pairings: This Grand Cru goes perfectly with game stews and dishes in sauce. Also enjoy with blue cheeses or at the end of a meal.
Degrees: 18.5% vol.
