L'Absolu 2003: The relics of a vintage of excellence...

20 years ago, the Cru de Banyuls created the beginnings of its quintessence...

Grenache Noir, the king grape variety of the vineyard, was able to shape its character in the image of a sunny and dry vintage, forming its rarity in 2003 and developing remarkable quality. The Absolute 2003 has lifted the veil on a magnified genesis, ready to face 14 years of aging in small 1000 liter containers resting at the entrance to the Terres des Templiers Historic Cellar. In the sun while being protected from bad weather, these barrels have seen thousands of visitors pass through without a single one being able to suspect the treasure they contained. Almost forgotten, the indecent part of angels knew how to concentrate the best of this pure nectar. Bottled in 2017, its distinguished character and controlled richness have already earned it the recognition of the greatest wine lovers. Banyuls Grand Cru .

6 years ago, this wine already had a very brown color with an amber fringe tending to gold, with a nose of complexity rarely achieved. Indeed, the aromas of caramel followed those of vanilla and Corinth grapes macerated in Rum , as well as aromas of roasted coffee beans to finish with notes of rancio reminiscent of walnut kernels. Her mouth was warm and elegant, with an intense pleasure that seemed infinite thanks to a finish carried by pungent, woody and licorice notes.

We knew, however, that eternity awaited him in a bottle. From these 5000 bottles born, 1,000 numbered bottles were then carefully preserved for 6 years to present them to you today in their wooden box, accompanied by their certificate of authenticity.

This refining made it possible to improve it, with an even more present personality and a aromatic bouquet of a complexity rarely encountered. Her dress now adopts new emerald green highlights . Its nose is all the more expressive as it now offers acrid scents of burnt caramel over which opens notes of old alcohol and peat. Its mouth, now distinguished, lively and salivating, has a saline side and a asserted rancio which extends the mouth. Served at around 17°C, this Banyuls Grand Cru will be the ideal companion at the end of a meal.

Twenty years have now passed since the grapes that were the origin of it were harvested... Let this Banyuls Grand Cru lead you to suspend time during an unrivaled tasting.
