Banyuls Traditionnel Fauve 2014 : un vin primé au caractère indomptable

Banyuls Traditionnel Fauve 2014: an award-winning wine with an indomitable character

There are wines that go beyond the simple pleasure of tasting to become a true sensory and narrative experience. The Banyuls Traditionnel Fauve 2014 is one of these rare wines. As its name suggests, it embodies the power and elegance of a wild animal: untamed, wild, and captivating.

Born from Grenache Noir alone, cultivated on steep schist terraces swept by the Mediterranean sun, it expresses all the strength of its terroir. Its aging in Bordeaux barrels, in the heart of our underground cellars, has allowed it to develop slowly, in an alchemy of patience and shade.

The color, a luminous tawny with mahogany highlights , announces a deep nose of cocoa, mocha coffee, currants and encaustic . On the palate, the power of its tannins combines with a balanced sweetness, like a meeting between brute force and delicacy.

Rewarded with an exceptional list of awards — Grand Or Vinalies & Palme Douceur, Or Terre de Vins, Or Grenaches du Monde, Double Or Gilbert & Gaillard (96 pts), Or Elle à Table, Or Féminalise — he has established himself as one of the major ambassadors of the Banyuls style.

At the table, it enhances a characterful pâté en croûte , but also a pork tenderloin with prunes . Like an expedition into the wild, each sip is an adventure. This Banyuls cannot be tamed, it must be tamed.
