By highlighting the Cave Terres des Templiers, the newspaper Le Figaro reveals the richness of the terroir of Collioure and Banyuls.
Our wine region is once again highlighted in a journalistic article, and the presentation of the Cru continues to the Grande Cave de Terres des Templiers.
The region between Catalonia and Provence, nestled between the sea and the mountains, is revealed as the cradle of natural sweet wines. Compared to renowned regions such as Bordeaux and Burgundy, Roussillon stands out for its quality wines at attractive prices.
The Mediterranean landscape of Roussillon, swept by the tramontane, combines medieval architecture with a pure approach to viticulture. With a bold push towards organic and natural wines, this column presents the region as a French epicentre of natural sweet wines, with 95% of these fortified wines produced in a dozen appellations, such as Banyuls, adorning a rugged terroir.
Zoom on Terres des Templiers: A wine-making craft in the heart of nature
The Terres des Templiers winery is presented as the essence of tranquility in a wild land, on almost 700 hectares of hand-harvested vines. This writing highlights the challenges of producing in extreme vineyards, inclined up to 80%, and recalls the vinification process of Banyuls appellation wines, naturally sweet wines with a distinctive sweetness.
The focus is on one of our flagship vintages: the Banyuls Grand Cru Président Henry Vidal 2007 , 100% Grenache Noir. According to Le Figaro, this vintage " gives an insight into the exceptional character of these wines that we don't drink every day, and that we only taste in those special moments that escape the ordinary."
